Senior Java Developer

Salary: £90,000 – 110,000 per year

Requirements

• We are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer with at least 7 years of experience as a backend Java developer building complex distributed systems.
• We need strong knowledge of core Java, data structures, and concurrency, not just framework familiarity.
• We require hands‑on experience with Kafka and event‑streaming frameworks such as Flink, Kafka Streams, or Spark.
• We need practical Kubernetes experience, including troubleshooting production issues.
• We are looking for experience tuning JVM performance, including garbage collection, CPU hotspots, and heap dump analysis.

Responsibilities

• We design and build distributed services from the ground up, working primarily with core Java.
• We develop event‑driven systems using Kafka and event‑streaming frameworks at scale.
• We orchestrate deployments on Kubernetes, defining services, deployments, and stateful sets.
• We tackle challenges around data consistency and availability and help shape how the platform evolves.
• We mentor other engineers while learning from senior peers across a global team.
