Bank SEN Teaching Assistant – Flexible Work
Location: Portslade – Brighton
Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm (on your available days)
Pay: £92.63 – £98.23 per day
We are currently recruiting for Bank SEN Teaching Assistants to support schools across the Portslade to Brighton area. This is a flexible role, ideal for individuals looking to work around studies, childcare, or other commitments. You will be contacted on a weekly basis to confirm your availability for upcoming work.
The role involves supporting both primary and secondary aged pupils with special educational needs, providing vital assistance in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 or small group basis
- Assisting with learning activities and classroom engagement
- Supporting students with additional needs and challenging behaviour
- Adapting to different school environments and situations
- Helping to maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive setting
Requirements
- Experience in a care or support‑based role is highly desirable
- A resilient, adaptable, and proactive approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Flexibility and willingness to work across different schools
Must Have
- Ability to work well independently and as a team
- Has a passion to support and empower children and young people
- A DBS on the Update Service or willing to obtain one
- Commitment to safeguarding students and young people
