Welder / Finisher (Day or Night Shift)

Location: Ely (CB7)Duration: PermanentHours: 37.5 hours, 7:30am – 5:15pm Monday to Wednesday with a 4:45pm finish on Thursday (Day shift) or 6pm – 6:30am Monday to Wed (Night shift)Salary: £15 – £20 per hour dependent on experience with a 25% uplift for night shiftJob Reference: 36240

Our client, a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing company based in Ely, are looking for experienced TIG Welders/Finishers to join their fabrication team. Permanent opportunities are available on both day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• TIG weld stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium and similar materials to a high standard (1‑3mm thickness)
• MIG welders with strong experience and a willingness to train in TIG are also encouraged to apply
• Weld box section frames and fabricated assemblies to tight tolerances
• Dress and finish welded components using hand and power tools
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
• Ensure work meets quality standards and production targets
• Support fabrication and assist with general sheet metal work where required

Requirements

• Proven welding and fabrication experience within a manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• High attention to detail with excellent finishing skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual and committed to producing quality work
• Experience within a quality‑driven environment is advantageous
