Commissioning Engineer position is field based across Kent and London. Working hours Monday to Friday, 08:30-17:00. The role is permanent and paying up to £48,000 depending on experience, with a company vehicle and an excellent benefits package.
As the Commissioning Engineer, you’ll be responsible for commissioning addressable and non-addressable fire detection systems across a variety of commercial projects. You’ll review technical drawings and specifications, configure and test fire systems, validate cause‑and‑effect programming, diagnose and resolve technical issues, and ensure all systems are fully compliant with British Standards and customer requirements. You’ll produce accurate commissioning reports and handover documentation, work closely with project teams to deliver installations on time and provide technical support where required. The role also includes identifying opportunities for system improvements while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
You will need:
- Previous experience commissioning fire detection systems within the fire and security industry
- Strong knowledge of addressable and conventional fire alarm systems
- FIA Modules 1, 2, 3 and 5 (or equivalent industry qualifications)
- The ability to interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics
- Strong fault‑finding, diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with a professional and customer‑focused approach
- Full UK driving licence
