County Lines Support Service
A specialist support service for under 25s and their families who are criminally exploited through county lines in West Yorkshire, London, West Midlands, Merseyside, and Greater Manchester.
The role of Case Worker – County Lines is an excellent opportunity to provide one‑to‑one tailored support to young people, working collaboratively as part of a multi‑agency team to ensure the safety of young people and maximise their outcomes. The case workers work as part of the Home Office‑funded County Lines Support Service.
About You
- Great verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain relationships with key partner agencies and work effectively as part of a team.
- Honest and reliable, with a creative and flexible approach to all aspects of work.
- Strong organisational skills, able to manage conflicting demands through problem‑solving and a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Experience working with, and delivering training to, young people and professionals in both group and one‑to‑one settings.
- Strong attention to detail, and knowledge of risk assessments, engagement strategies and intervention strategies, especially for young people with complex needs.
- Experience using recording and data collation systems.
Main Duties and Accountabilities
- Provide appropriate end‑to‑end support and interventions to a defined caseload of young people and their families involved in County Lines activity, including effective assessment, care planning and risk management.
- Proactively assess and manage caseload risks, escalating where necessary through internal and external safeguarding procedures, and adapt case management frequency and methodology to reflect individual needs.
- Ensure that the diverse needs and aspirations of all service users are considered in service planning and delivery, enabling them to fulfil their potential.
- Liaise effectively with local partner organisations and other relevant agencies to ensure effective referrals, risk management, and ease of transition for young people.
- Promote continued joint work of the service and other partners, acting as a sub‑regional or district single point of contact where required.
- Have experience working with young people (18‑25) and their families who are vulnerable or have complex needs, preferably in a community setting.
- Have experience of inter‑agency working, preferably with Children’s, Family Services, Youth Justice Services or Youth Services.
- Understand issues around risk and vulnerability among young people.
- Good ICT skills, with experience using data recording and data collation systems.
Contract: Fixed‑term contract ending 31.03.27
Hours & work pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week.
Location: Hybrid role based in Leeds.
