As a Health & Social Care with Childhood Development Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that help students develop a strong understanding of health, social care and child development. You will encourage learners to build both their theoretical knowledge and practical skills while preparing them for further education and future careers. Working within a supportive department, you will contribute to high-quality teaching and positive student outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Health & Social Care and Childhood Development lessons.
  • Teach across relevant Key Stages in line with the national curriculum and examination specifications.
  • Assess, monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support students in developing practical, academic and interpersonal skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Health & Social Care and/or Childhood Development within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • A genuine passion for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons.
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.

To work with GSL Education as a Health & Social Care with Childhood Development Teacher, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
