Community Cafe Assistant (Bank) – YMCA Community Cafe


£13.45 per hour.


We are seeking a dedicated and welcoming individual to join our team as Community Cafe Bank Staff, located at Lipscomb Hall in Cockfield, Teesdale. If you are passionate about providing excellent customer service, great food, and creating a safe space for the community, we encourage you to apply!

What Will You Be Doing?


As a member of our Community Cafe Bank Staff, you will be a vital part of our team, contributing to the day-to-day running of our community café. Your main responsibilities include:



  • Supporting the team in preparing and presenting healthy, affordable food and drinks to an exceptional standard.

  • Helping to create a welcoming, safe, clean, and attractive environment that community members actively seek out.

  • Building relationships with customers and showing a caring attitude toward volunteers and community members so they feel valued.


What Skills and Experience Do You Need?


To be successful in this flexible and rewarding role, it is essential that you have:



  • Excellent communication skills with a calm, relaxed, encouraging, and supportive approach.

  • The ability to talk to people from all walks of life and a willingness to learn and develop.

  • A Food Hygiene Certificate and prior experience in a well-respected café environment (desirable).

  • The ability to support the preparation and cooking of meals to a high standard (desirable).


This post requires proof of right to work in the UK, satisfactory references, and a satisfactory enhanced DBS Disclosure (the cost of which will be met by the employer).
