Apply for the Senior Data Scientist
Location: London
Job Description:

Are you passionate about applying statistical modelling to solve complex real-world challenges?

We’re working with a growing consultancy that’s looking to appoint a Senior Data Scientist (Biostatistics) to support clients in advancing their statistical modelling capabilities. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of biostatistics, software engineering and cloud technologies, helping organisations develop robust, scalable and production-ready statistical solutions.

You’ll collaborate with biostatisticians, statisticians and cross-functional teams to refine modelling approaches, improve reproducibility and deploy analytical workflows into modern cloud environments.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing and developing scalable R-based statistical modelling workflows.
  • Working closely with biostatisticians to improve modelling approaches and methodologies.
  • Developing reusable R packages and supporting robust statistical software development.
  • Implementing best practices around testing, documentation, version control and CI/CD.
  • Supporting the deployment of statistical models into production cloud environments.
  • Providing technical guidance to help improve modelling and engineering standards.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure statistical solutions are reproducible, maintainable and scalable.

What we’re looking for

We’re interested in speaking with experienced professionals who can demonstrate:

  • A strong background in statistics, ideally within biostatistics.
  • Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and software engineering best practices.
  • Experience designing reproducible statistical modelling workflows.
  • Exposure to Databricks or other cloud-based data platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex statistical concepts to a variety of stakeholders.

Experience deploying statistical models into production environments or working with APIs would be advantageous but isn’t essential.

Why apply?

  • Work on technically challenging statistical modelling projects.
  • Help bridge the gap between statistical science and modern software engineering.
  • Collaborate with highly experienced biostatisticians and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Work with modern cloud technologies and scalable analytics platforms.
  • Join a collaborative consultancy that values technical excellence, innovation and continuous learning.
  • Hybrid working and a competitive salary and benefits package.
