We seek a highly motivated and independently driven Post-doctoral Research Associate to work with Dr Annelies Quaegebeur and Prof Roger Barker studying heterochromatin erosion in Parkinson’s disease.
The research project will integrate high-resolution, multi-omics post-mortem tissue analysis with functional validation in cellular models with the aim of identifying heterochromatin erosion as a key driver of the regional pathology of Parkinson’s Disease (PD) and thus its clinical heterogeneity and progression. These findings could then lead to novel therapeutic strategies targeting epigenetic ageing processes in PD.
This project is embedded within the international Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s (ASAP) network and will involve multi-disciplinary approaches as well as multi-institutional collaboration.
