The Role
- Manage a varied caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Public Law Outline (PLO), and care proceedings.
- Complete robust assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans.
- Undertake direct work with children and families to reduce risk and promote positive change.
- Prepare high-quality court statements, care plans, and reports within statutory timescales.
- Work closely with legal services, partner agencies, and the judiciary throughout court proceedings.
- Attend child protection conferences, looked after reviews, legal planning meetings, and court hearings.
- Ensure children’s voices remain central to all assessment, planning, and decision-making.
About You
- Social Work England registration.
- A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent).
- Experience working within Child Protection, Safeguarding, Court, or Permanence services.
- Sound knowledge of the Children Act 1989, Public Law Outline (PLO), and court processes.
- Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills.
- The ability to make confident, evidence-based decisions while managing competing priorities.
- A commitment to delivering child-focused, relationship-based practice.
- 3 years permanent experience in a local authoirty
