Posts are initially offered at the minimum salary point £13.45 per hour, with progression to higher salary point £13.99 per hour through annual incremental pay rise.

Your role as a Catering Assistant

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and hardworking people, who have a keen eye for detail and who will take pride in their work and are passionate about food and delivering great service for every customer and will proactively go out of their ways to exceed customer expectations. Working within any retail catering unit at University Park/Jubilee Campus, you will be responsible for serving customers, using our tills and supporting with general cleaning within the area where you work to include working within the dishwash/potwash area and adhering to all food safety and health and safety regulations, standards, policies, procedures and codes of practice. As a member of our team, you will have a positive and energetic approach and be a colleague that the team look forward to working with and building strong relationships with others to accomplish tasks and shared goals. You will have an eye for detail and aim to deliver the exceptional operational standards required particularly at busy service times. Available Positions

  • Post 1 – Hours of work 20 hours per week (5 shifts each week, mainly Monday to Friday with regular weekends) working a range of shifts on a rotational pattern between the hours 8.00am and 6.00 for 30.6 weeks or 33 weeks of the year on a permanent fractional contract. Flexibility will be required. – covering retail units within University Park and Jubilee on notice
  • Post 2 – Hours of work 30 hours per week (5 shifts each week, mainly Monday to Friday with regular weekends) working a range of shifts on a rotational pattern between the hours 8.00am and 6.00pm working on a permanent all year-round contract. Flexibility will be required. – covering retail units within University Park and Jubilee on notice.
  • These positions will attract 15% pay uplift allowance for hours worked at the weekend.

Successful candidates will be expected to attend induction training courses which will run each month, Monday to Friday on University Park Campus. Further details will be given at the interview. The interviews for these posts are informal and will take no longer than 20 minutes.
