About the Practice
This modern small animal practice provides dedicated first opinion and out-of-hours veterinary care within a collaborative and supportive team environment.
The practice is equipped with excellent facilities, including:
Four consultation rooms
Two dedicated surgical suites
In-house laboratory
Ultrasound scanner
Digital radiography
Dental radiography
CT scanner
Endoscopy facilities
The team is passionate about developing veterinary talent and provides structured support to help clinicians grow their confidence, expand their skills, and progress professionally.
There are opportunities for further development, including potential support towards a fully funded certificate in Emergency and Critical Care (ECC).
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality out-of-hours veterinary care for small animal patients.
Manage emergency and urgent cases with confidence and clinical autonomy.
Perform medical assessments, diagnostics, and surgical procedures when required.
Develop effective treatment plans using evidence-based medicine.
Provide compassionate communication and reassurance to clients during challenging situations.
Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
Work collaboratively with veterinary nurses and the wider OOH team.
Support excellent standards of patient care throughout the night service.
Participate in ongoing CPD and professional development opportunities.
Share knowledge and contribute to a positive learning environment.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a confident Out of Hours Veterinary Surgeon with strong clinical skills and the ability to manage cases independently.
You will have:
RCVS registration and eligibility to work as a Veterinary Surgeon in the UK.
Experience working within a small animal veterinary environment.
Confidence managing medical and surgical cases.
Strong diagnostic and decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication and client-care skills.
A commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues.
An interest in developing emergency and critical care skills.
