On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit an Embedded Software Team Leader on an initial 6 – month contract. As the Embedded Software Team Leader you will be responsible for leading a team of software engineers in the delivery of high-quality software solutions. Working closely with the Software Project Leader, they will orchestrate team activities to ensure successful delivery against programme objectives and schedules.
Role: Embedded Software Team Leader Pay: 70 via Umbrella Location: Bristol Contract: Monday- Friday, 37 Hours per week, 6 months Contract IR35 Status: Inside Security Clearance: SC Required to start
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of software developers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Collaborate with the Software Project Leader and stakeholders to define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables. Ensure effective coordination among team members, ensuring tasks are assigned, and deadlines are met.
- Identify and communicate the technical risks and debt for the activity to the Software Project Leader.
- Facilitate effective communication among team members, stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams. Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the team.
- Ensure the team follows software development best practices, quality assurance processes, and coding standards. Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization. Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement quality improvement initiatives.
- Capture and communicate key data metrics for the development and report these into the Software Project Leader, suggesting improvements where appropriate using the data collected.
Essential Skills
- Experience in the development of embedded software with C and C++ is essential, along with a knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems.
- Experience of Rhapsody UML or other model-driven development tools
- Experience in testing software to requirements & ICD’s on both host and target hardware.
- Experience of IBM Engineering Work Management / Rational Tool Concert tool.
