Plant Fitter
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Plant Fitter to join a busy engineering operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled maintenance professional with experience working on heavy plant, lifting equipment and specialist machinery.
The role will involve maintaining, servicing and repairing a range of plant and lifting equipment, ensuring machinery remains safe, compliant and available for operational use.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned maintenance, servicing and inspections on plant and lifting equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
- Prepare equipment for statutory inspections, including LOLER examinations.
- Attend customer and operational sites to carry out repairs and breakdown support when required.
- Work in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, risk assessments, Health & Safety requirements, DVSA standards and relevant legislation.
- Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection and repair records.
- Support third-party inspections and statutory examinations.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop.
- Manage parts, tools and consumable stock effectively.
About You
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Plant Maintenance, Engineering or a related discipline.
- NVQ Level 2 in Plant Operations for servicing forklift trucks.
- Previous experience maintaining heavy plant, cranes, lifting equipment or similar machinery.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Good understanding of LOLER and PUWER requirements.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel to site when required.
