Job overview
To provide a strong and comprehensive administration and clerical support to the Neurodevelopmental Pathway. The role will entail dealing with queries from patients and their families, schools, social workers and other external agencies.

If you don’t already have a Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 2apprenticeship qualification (relevant to your role).
As an apprentice within RDaSH you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills and obtain all the tools needed to thrive.
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. This leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
Whether you already work for us or are joining the Trust and NHS for the first time, apprenticeships can help you to develop the skills, knowledge and know-how in order to embark on a successful and fulfilling career within the health service.
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will be confident in the use of Microsoft Office packages, Outlook, Word and Excel. Have proven background/experience of working within a busy administration based environment. Be able to answer telephone queries, handle referral documents for uploading into our clinical patient record system , assist with printing, filing, typing, format letters plus other administration duties as part of their role.
They must be able to communicate courteously and effectively as they will be the point of contact for schools and parents within the team. Workload varies across the year, so the post requires someone who is able to work well under pressure and who can prioritise different streams of work to meet the changing demands on the service.
There will be an expectation to work across all localities as and when required to support service delivery.

Person specification
Qualifications
- Demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills to functional skills level 1 or equivalent
- NVQ Level 2 in a related subject or equivalent or willingness to undertake a relevant Level 2 Apprenticeship
- GCSE Grade C or above or Functional skills level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths
Experience
- IT skills in Microsoft Office Packages or equivalent experience
- Use of Clinical record keeping system – SystmOne desireable
Knowledge
- Understand importance of maintaining confidentiality
Skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and in writing
- Awareness and understanding of the requirement for discretion and confidentiality
- Ability to relay correct messages both verbally and in writing
