NQ+ Litigation Solicitor (Military Claims)Location: Cardiff
The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an NQ+ Litigation Solicitor to join a specialist military claims team in Cardiff, acting for current and former members of the Armed Forces in claims against the Ministry of Defence.
The team handles a range of military claims, with a particular focus on military deafness and non-freezing cold injuries.
This is an excellent opportunity for a claimant litigator to develop their career within a specialist and highly regarded team. This role will also require the successful candidate to assist with the supervision of a team of paralegals – so this role would be particularly suitable for solicitors looking for the opportunity to build on their management/supervision experience.
The Role
You will manage your own caseload, with responsibilities including:
- Taking initial enquiries and drafting witness evidence
- Managing disclosure and reviewing documentation
- Advising and updating clients throughout their claims
- Preparing court documents and schedules of loss
- Reviewing medical and expert evidence
- Assisting with the instruction of Counsel
- Advising on offers relating to breach of duty and quantum
About You
We are looking for a solicitor with:
- A qualified solicitor in England and Wales (NQ+ PQE)
- Previous experience of claimant litigation
- Experience managing your own caseload
- Excellent organisational and attention-to-detail skills
- Strong client care and communication skills
Previous experience of noise-induced hearing loss or military claims would be advantageous but is not essential.
