38 hours per week

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00am – 3:00pm

Contract Duration

Temporary with an immediate start. There is potential for the role to be made permanent.

Role Overview

The HR Administrator delivers a range of operational HR activities across the employee lifecycle, ensuring people processes, HR systems, records, and documentation are managed accurately, efficiently, and consistently.

Key Responsibilities

HR Administration, Systems & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records across HR systems and associated files.
  • Process employee lifecycle changes, absence records, and contractual information accurately and within required timescales.
  • Support payroll processing, compliance obligations, and management reporting requirements.
  • Act as a key user of the HR system, identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ensure full GDPR compliance in the handling and storage of employee information and records.
  • Complete the annual Fair Employment return for submission to the HR Manager.
  • Prepare HR data, reports, and metrics for the People & Culture team and management meetings.
  • Provide administrative support for employee lifecycle and employee relations processes, including arranging meetings, preparing documentation, and taking minutes.

Recruitment, Onboarding & Employee Experience

  • Coordinate onboarding and induction activities for new employees.
  • Ensure company induction materials remain accurate and up to date.
  • Support the offboarding process, ensuring a positive experience for departing employees.
  • Coordinate and conduct exit interviews when required.
  • Support employee engagement and retention initiatives through new hire check-ins and quarterly review meetings.
  • Assist with recruitment administration as required.

Employee Lifecycle & Learning Support

  • Organise training activities and maintain training records.
  • Monitor learning completion across the workforce.
  • Support absence management, probation reviews, performance management, and employee relations processes.
  • Ensure actions are tracked, coordinated, and followed up promptly with managers and employees.

HR Service & Team Support

  • Act as a first point of contact for employee and manager HR queries.
  • Escalate matters to the HR Manager where appropriate.
  • Provide guidance within policy parameters.
  • Coordinate the HR Manager’s diary and meeting schedule.
  • Support People & Culture projects and general HR administration.
  • Publish new and updated policies across relevant business locations.
  • Produce tailored HR reports as required.
  • Manage the company uniform ordering process.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

Experience & Knowledge

  • Minimum of one year’s experience in a similar HR role within a busy HR department.
  • Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong administration and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective time management and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible approach to work and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues while also using initiative.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
