Job Description:

Business Support Officer (Hybrid) needed in Nottingham, £14.82ph

2 to 3 days per week on site

  • Provide flexible project and business support for a Local Authority Children and Education Transformation Team, supporting managers, teams and partners to deliver priorities, maintain effective administration and improve service outcomes.
  • Support project planning, coordination and delivery by maintaining project documentation, action logs, risk/issue records, evidence files, progress updates and governance information.
  • Arrange and support meetings, including preparing papers, agendas and minutes/notes, recording decisions, chasing actions and ensuring follow-up activity is completed to agreed deadlines.
  • Collate, maintain and analyse information from systems, spreadsheets and project records, producing clear reports, briefings, dashboards, presentations and management information for senior officers, boards and stakeholders.
  • Provide responsive business administration, including enquiry handling, mailbox support, diary/meeting coordination, document production, record management, purchase order/invoice processing and general office support.
  • Act as a professional point of contact for internal services, external partners, suppliers, residents/customers and stakeholders, ensuring queries are handled efficiently and sensitive matters are escalated appropriately.
  • Support compliance, audit and governance requirements by maintaining accurate records, following data protection/confidentiality requirements, and working within policies, procedures and financial regulations.
  • Use strong IT and digital skills, including Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel, databases and project/business systems, to maintain accurate information and produce high-quality outputs.
  • Bring excellent organisation, attention to detail and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work at pace, meet deadlines and support multiple workstreams in a busy public sector environment.
  • Work collaboratively and professionally, showing discretion, resilience, initiative, political awareness, customer focus and commitment to equality, diversity and positive outcomes for children and young people.

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
