Construction & Engineering Associate (Renewable Energy)

Location: Bristol

PQE: 3+

Working pattern: Hybrid | Full‑time

About the Role

A top‑tier UK law firm is seeking a Construction & Engineering Associate to join its highly regarded Energy & Infrastructure team.

This is a front‑end, non‑contentious construction role with a strong focus on major renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

Based out of the firm’s Bristol office, you’ll work on complex, large‑scale developments across sectors including offshore wind (fixed & floating), onshore wind, solar, hydrogen, nuclear, pumped storage hydro, waste‑to‑energy, tidal, and wider civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and negotiating construction and engineering contracts (NEC, FIDIC, EPC, O&M, supply and installation agreements).
  • Advising developers, utilities, funders and contractors on procurement strategy, risk allocation, and project delivery.
  • Supporting multi‑disciplinary teams on major UK energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Providing early‑stage advisory input on contractual issues and project risk (non‑contentious).

About You

  • 3+ years PQE in construction.
  • Experience working on energy, infrastructure or major projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and project delivery.
  • Confident working with clients and collaborating across teams.
  • UK‑qualified and SRA‑registered (or equivalent).
