Your new company

n A well-established public sector organisation is seeking a Roads Officer to join their Roads Services team on a long term temporary basis working 2-3 days a week. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery and development of road infrastructure services, ensuring projects and maintenance activities are delivered efficiently, safely and in line with statutory requirements.

n The role offersflexible working arrangements, including flexi-time, and the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing improvement of essential public infrastructure services.

Your new role

n As Roads Officer, youwill support the delivery of a wide range of roads services activities, helping to maximise operational efficiency whilst ensuring compliance with organisational policies, budgets and legislative requirements.

n Key responsibilities will include:

    n

  • Supporting the delivery and development of roads and infrastructure services.
  • n

  • Assisting in the management and delivery of road maintenance and improvement works.
  • n

  • Monitoring projects and programmes to ensure compliance with budget, quality and performance targets.
  • n

  • Providing technical support and advice on roads-related matters.
  • n

  • Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with statutory requirements and organisational policies.
  • n

  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and best-value service delivery.
  • n

  • Liaising with internal departments, contractors, stakeholders and members of the public.
  • n

n

What you'll need to succeed

n To be considered forthis position, you will ideally possess:

n

    n

  • HNC in Civil Engineering, SVQ Level 2, or a related qualification.
  • n

  • Alternatively, demonstrable equivalent experience within roads, highways or civil engineering environments.
  • n

  • Knowledge of road maintenance, utilities, construction or infrastructure delivery.
  • n

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • n

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • n

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a public sector environment.
  • n

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • n

n
