Job Description:

This is a fully remote position open to candidates located anywhere across Europe with an MD degree (or equivalent) and an active medical licence in their country of residence.

We are partnering with a leading global clinical research organisation to appoint experienced Medical Directors across Neurology, Rheumatology/Immunology, and Nephrology.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for physicians with strong therapeutic expertise and experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO sectors to play a critical role in clinical development, pharmacovigilance, and medical safety activities across international programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical review and assessment of serious adverse events, ICSRs, periodic safety reports, and other regulatory documentation.
  • Monitor patient safety throughout clinical studies and evaluate emerging safety signals.
  • Deliver expert medical guidance to sponsors, investigators, and internal project teams.
  • Review and contribute to clinical and regulatory documents including CSRs, CTD modules, RMPs, REMS, and other submissions.
  • Support investigator meetings, sponsor interactions, and business development initiatives.
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to the development of medical and safety best practices.
  • Participate in proposal development, feasibility assessments, and strategic client discussions.

Qualifications

  • MD degree (Doctor of Medicine) or internationally recognised equivalent.
  • Active medical licence in your country of residence.
  • Board certification in Neurology, Rheumatology, Immunology, Nephrology, or a closely related medical specialty.

Required Skills

  • Significant clinical practice experience within Neurology, Rheumatology/Immunology, or Nephrology.
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, clinical development, pharmacovigilance, or clinical research environment.
  • Prior involvement in clinical trials, medical monitoring, drug safety, or pharmacovigilance activities is highly desirable.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong medical and scientific expertise within your therapeutic area.
  • Excellent analytical skills and sound clinical judgement.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong understanding of clinical development, regulatory requirements, and safety reporting processes.
  • Ability to work effectively within global, cross-functional teams.
