Legal Assistant – Private Client | London | Full-time, office-based

We are working with a highly regarded London law firm, recognised for its exceptional Private Client practice, to recruit a Legal Assistant to join its established team based in beautiful Lincoln’s Inn.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a specialist Private Client environment. You will work closely with experienced fee earners and the departmental Paralegal, supporting a varied caseload across estate administration, Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters.

The role will include:

  • Providing administrative support throughout the probate and estate administration process.
  • Liaising with banks, HMRC, the Probate Registry, insurers, estate agents and other third parties.
  • Reviewing bank statements and assisting with estate administration and tax-related information.
  • Supporting the sale and distribution of shares and other estate assets.
  • Assisting with trust administration, including payments to charities and maintaining accurate records.
  • Preparing and managing documentation, including deeds, valuations and correspondence.
  • Maintaining electronic and paper files and ensuring documents are accurately recorded.
  • Carrying out some legal research and updating precedents and guidance notes.
  • Providing general support to the wider Private Client team when required.

About you:

You will ideally have a 2:1 degree or above in Law (or a related subject), alongside some previous experience within a law firm with exposure to Private Client work, particularly probate, estate administration or Wills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and a highly organised approach are essential. You will also need to be confident using Microsoft Word and Excel, able to manage competing priorities and demonstrate a genuine “can-do” attitude.

Please note: this is a fully office-based role, Monday to Friday.
