Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Graduate / Junior / AQSto join a growing Quantity Surveying and Commercial Consultancy, working alongside a more senior commercial QS on a number of infrastructure projects around the Mansfield regions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate / Junior / AQS with ideally 12-18 months experience who already has some exposure within the civil engineering/infrastructure arena clearly looking to develop their commercial experience within the rapidly growing construction sector.

The Role:

You will play a key role in the financial and contractual management of certain projects to protect the best interests of the company. The primary responsibility is to ensure that construction projects are delivered within time, budget and meet our contractual obligations.

You will be involved in Contracts from tender stage through to delivery and into final account. Reporting into a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you help to assess risk and opportunity, limit exposure, recover entitlement and ensure business performance is achieved.

In this client-facing role you will uphold core values and inspire a culture of trust and collaboration with clients and respective delivery teams.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist to complete take-offs for materials and equipment, source quotations and order materials.
  • Assist manage and monitor project cost and value.
  • Assist with the production of Monthly Performance Reports.
  • Assist with subcontractor procurement (pre qualification to contract).
  • Assist with preparation of subcontract documents, enquiries and assessment of quotations.
  • Assist placing subcontract orders, agreement and certification of subcontract applications for payment, invoice, and final account agreements
  • Assist with preparation and submission of interim valuations and payment applications to clients, along with the agreement of final accounts.
  • Occasionally attend risk review, progress and commercial meetings on-site with the Client.
  • Assist to review contract documents and advise on any issues.
  • Assist and track the progress and cash flow forecast information.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication for interacting with clients, subcontractors, and the project team.
  • Basic negotiation skills when dealing with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Competence in Microsoft Excel and Word (essential).
  • Attention to Detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure on multiple projects.
  • Minimum of either a HND/HNC or Degree in a relevant Quantity Surveying Qualification.
  • Full Driving License.
