Our client operates one of the UK’s most geographically diverse data centre networks and is investing heavily in the expansion, resilience and modernisation of its critical infrastructure estate.

They are now seeking a Director of Data Centre Build & Engineering to lead the delivery, governance and engineering integrity of all data centre build, expansion and infrastructure upgrade programmes across the UK.

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for Mechanical & Electrical engineering, major capital projects, and the safe delivery of mission-critical power and cooling infrastructure across a live operational environment.

We actively encourage applications from candidates with experience in high-reliability environments such as defence infrastructure, energy, utilities, transport or data centre upgrade programmes.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading Mechanical & Electrical engineering strategy across a national data centre portfolio
• Overseeing major build, expansion and refurbishment programmes
• Ensuring engineering standards, resilience and compliance across all sites
• Leading regional engineering teams and managing specialist contractors
• Acting as the senior technical authority for critical infrastructure engineering

We’re interested in people who have

• Led complex engineering or infrastructure programmes in critical environments
• Strong experience in M&E systems, engineering governance and operational resilience
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering teams
• A background in defence, military engineering, infrastructure, energy or mission-critical facilities is highly valued
