About the Role
Our client is recruiting a Software Service / Automation Field Engineer to support the deployment and operation of advanced industrial automation systems across the UK and Europe.
This is a hands-on hybrid role combining software expertise with on-site technical support, acting as the link between core engineering teams and live customer deployments. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring automated systems operate reliably in real-world, production environments.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Acting as first-line support for software issues on deployed automated systems
- Diagnosing and resolving issues on live customer sites
- Working closely with UK and international engineering teams to triage and escalate issues
- Building deep technical knowledge of a full automation software stack
- Providing structured feedback to improve system performance and reliability
- Communicating confidently with customers and operators in industrial environments
What They're Looking For
- Strong software engineering foundation (industrial, embedded, or automation exposure ideal)
- Hands-on experience diagnosing live systems in the field or production environments
- Background in applications engineering, commissioning, or technical support is highly desirable
- Comfortable working with physical hardware and automation systems
- Willing to travel within the UK and Europe
- Clear communicator who performs well under pressure
