Overview
We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading construction team delivering a mix of residential and commercial projects across London. This role offers exposure to high-quality developments and the opportunity to develop strong commercial and contractual experience within a fast-paced environment.
You will support the commercial team in managing project costs, subcontractor packages, and financial reporting from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the commercial management of residential and commercial projects
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts
- Carry out measurement and quantity take-offs from drawings
- Assist with subcontractor procurement and tender analysis
- Manage interim valuations, variations, and payment applications
- Monitor project expenditure against budgets
- Support contract administration (JCT/NEC)
- Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Assist with final account preparation and agreement
Requirements
Essential
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- 2–5 years’ experience in construction (residential, commercial, or fit-out)
- Strong understanding of construction methods and cost control
- Working knowledge of JCT or NEC contracts
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good communication and organisational ability
Desirable
- Main contractor or developer experience
- Exposure to mixed-use or residential developments
- Progressing towards MRICS accreditation
