About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Business Analyst to join a growing IT and transformation team within a highly regulated sector. The role is central to delivering an ambitious IT Transformation Programme, enabling smarter, more integrated working across the organisation as it doubles in scale and broadens its mission.

The Business Analyst will work across projects and programmes, supporting both waterfall and agile delivery approaches, and acting as the bridge between business needs and technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Engineering – Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements using a range of methods (interviews, workshops, document analysis, observation).
  • Solution Support – Work with testing teams to ensure requirements are testable, traceable, and fully aligned to solution design and procurement processes.
  • Process Improvement – Model current (“As-Is”) and future (“To-Be”) business processes, conduct gap analysis, and support business optimisation.
  • Collaboration & Communication – Act as a link between business units and IT technical teams (developers, solution architects, testers).
  • Stakeholder Engagement – Facilitate workshops, promote BA best practice, and support PMO and project managers in delivering robust project outcomes.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree (IT, analytical, or equivalent experience).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using a wide range of BA tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrable experience eliciting requirements and process mapping.
  • Exposure to both waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Skilled in facilitating stakeholder workshops and driving process improvements.
  • Experience within the public sector, engineering, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
  • 25 days annual leave plus public holidays (rising with service), with option to buy/sell leave.

Additional Information

  • Security clearance is required (or ability to obtain).
  • Hybrid working with 2+ days per week required in the Bristol office (Bradley Stoke, BS32).
