Performance Analyst – Homebased – Flexible, United Kingdom

Grade C – £34,890 (National) or £40,746 (London – for London office based or home-based workers within the boundary of the M25) – There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £600 per annum for those working from home. Please note for part time roles – this will be pro rata. Contracted Hours: Full time 37 hours per week Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract or Secondment until 31st December 2026Closing date: Thursday 23 April 2026 at 11.59pm

Picture thisYou’re working with colleagues across CQC to turnperformance data into insight that really lands—helping teams understand what’sworking, what’s not, and where action will make the biggest difference. Youranalysis shapes conversations from frontline teams to senior leaders,supporting learning, improvement, and transparency.

  • As a Performance Analyst, you might have helped design new performance measures aligned to CQC’s corporate plan, making it easier for teams to track progress and demonstrate impact.
  • As a Performance Analyst, you could have led analysis that identified variation in performance across the organisation, working with improvement colleagues to understand the drivers and support meaningful change.

The role

You’ll work closely with others to deliver sharedoutcomes. In this role, you’ll:

  • Analyse and report performance: Produce regular reporting, analysis and presentations that are clear, joined‑up and accessible, supporting informed decision making from inspectors through to senior leaders.
  • Design and improve measures: Maintain and develop performance measures, identifying improvements to metrics and presentations while working with others to resolve data quality issues.
  • Support learning and improvement: Use data to identify performance variation, engage stakeholders to understand what’s driving it, and work alongside quality improvement colleagues to enable positive change.

We will be looking for specific skills, knowledge andexperience in your application form:

  • Data analysis in practice: Experience analysing data and explaining patterns, trends or differences in a clear way that others can use to make decisions.
  • Handling and presenting data: Experience extracting, managing and working with data using tools such as Excel or similar, and presenting information in simple, accessible formats.
  • Using evidence to influence: Experience using analysis or evidence to support decision making, including explaining findings to colleagues or leaders.
