I’m currently working with an established and growing technology organisation that is scaling a next-generation autonomy platform, and they’re looking to bring in a Senior Mapping Engineer to play a key role in its evolution.
This is a genuinely impactful position where you’ll have the opportunity to shape mapping architecture, influence technical direction, and work on complex, real‑world autonomy challenges.

The role:
You’ll take ownership of mapping capability across the autonomy stack, working end‑to‑end from architecture and algorithm design through to deployment and optimisation.
You’ll collaborate closely with perception and localisation teams, ensuring mapping outputs are robust, scalable and production‑ready, while also mentoring engineers and contributing to best practice across the function.
Key experience:
- Strong background in SLAM, LiDAR and 3D mapping
- Experience with multi‑sensor fusion (LiDAR, cameras, radar, GNSS/INS)
- Solid C++ and ROS2 expertise
- Experience with large‑scale, real‑world mapping deployments
- Understanding of geometry, optimisation and transformation systems
- Semantic mapping, distributed systems, DDS or ML‑driven scene understanding
