About the Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in the day‑to‑day running of our kitchen.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual looking to develop their culinary career within a fast‑paced, high‑quality kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and ensuring smooth service
  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
  • Ensure compliance with UK food safety and health & safety regulations (including HACCP)
  • Support menu development, including seasonal and special dishes
  • Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise waste
  • Step in to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong experience as a Chef de Partie ready to step up
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen best practices
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen environment
  • A passion for fresh, high‑quality food and attention to detail
  • Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) desirable
