Client: Having been established for over 30 years our client has come to be recognised as a market leading M&E contractor within the UK. Key to their success is their innovative engineering solutions and delivery first approach. Their experience ranges from small work contracts circa £500k to major projects in excess of £40M, covering commercial offices, science and datacentre sectors.

Electrical Project Manager – Salary up to £85,000 plus package (DOE) – Central London

They are seeking an Electrical Project Manager to lead the Electrical element on a fast and complex project based in Mayfair, our client are set to deliver the shell and core, then fitout of a major commercial development for a leading law firm. This project boasts a £25m M&E package.

Preconstruction will start in the new year, with the install beginning March. The successful candidate will be expected to take the project from pre-construction through to handover. Key to this role is relationship management, team coordination and project reporting. The position will be supported by a team of engineers, construction managers and supervisors

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants)
  • Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant
  • Technical submittals
  • RFIs – Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors
  • Value Engineering where applicable
  • Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project
  • Health & Safety management (RAMs)
  • Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Survey.
  • Management of variations
  • Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors)
  • Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings
  • Overseeing commissioning stages
  • Formulation of OM Manuals and client handover

The ideal candidate:

  • Will be familiar working in a fast pace environment
  • Experience working in the commercial sector
  • Experience managing projects to a minimum of £6M within your own discipline
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior management role
  • Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as ISg, Lend Lease, Sir Robert McAlpine and Mace.
  • The candidate will show longevity in previous employment
