Position: Mechanical Engineering Lecturer

Rate: 40–50 per hour
Eden Brown are currently seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineering Lecturer to join a leading further education college in Greater Manchester.
This is a full-time temporary role (36 hours per week paid).
Role Overview
The primary focus of this role will be on the planning, delivery, and assessment of theory-based skills for Level 5 students. You will teach key subjects such as CAD/CAM, Thermodynamics, and Mechanical Principles, helping students develop a solid understanding of these core engineering concepts. You will play a pivotal role in supporting student progress and ensuring that all learning outcomes are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess theory-based content in CAD/CAM, Thermodynamics, and Mechanical Principles
- Develop and update course materials, including lectures, tutorials, and practical assessments
- Provide academic support and guidance to students, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment
- Ensure that all teaching materials are aligned with the curriculum and meet the required academic standards
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Mechanical Engineering programme
Essential Requirements
- A relevant PhD or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Expertise in CAD/CAM, Thermodynamics, and Mechanical Principles at a Level 5 (higher education) standard
- Strong experience in teaching and assessment, with the ability to engage and motivate students
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A proactive and collaborative approach to team working
Desirable Skills
- Experience using industry‑standard CAD/CAM software and simulation tools
- Familiarity with the latest trends in thermodynamics and mechanical design principles
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles
- Prior experience in higher education teaching
