We are a young, hands‑on couple managing and continually developing a diverse private estate, including a working farm, luxury accommodation, moorings, and a growing property portfolio.

We are looking for a capable, practical, and proactive individual to work closely with us in helping run the estate day‑to‑day. This is a varied and hands‑on role combining bookkeeping, administration, and operational coordination across all areas of the estate.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys responsibility, thrives on variety, and takes pride in making sure things run smoothly and efficiently.

The Opportunity

This is not a desk‑only role. You will become a key part of the estate’s day‑to‑day operation, supporting everything from finances and administration through to coordinating suppliers, contractors, and farm‑related activities.

You will play an important role in helping us improve, organise, and grow the estate, with real scope to take ownership and make a visible impact.

Key Responsibilities

Finance & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain clear and accurate financial records on Xero.
  • Track and manage income streams (accommodation, moorings, farm, rentals)
  • Process invoices, payments, and carry out bank reconciliations
  • Work to secure deals on expenses, i.e electric, animal feed ect
  • Work alongside external accountants and support financial reporting

Estate Administration

  • Oversee day‑to‑day administration and ensure everything is well organised
  • Manage documents, records, compliance, and filing systems
  • Handle communications with tenants, guests, suppliers, and contractors
  • Support bookings, scheduling, and general coordination

Estate & Farm Coordination

  • Liaise with farm suppliers and manage ordering of materials and services
  • Coordinate gardeners and grounds maintenance to ensure the estate is kept to a high standard
  • Arrange and oversee contractors, maintenance, and repairs
  • Help ensure all areas of the estate are running efficiently and presented well

Projects & Improvements

  • Support ongoing improvement and development projects across the estate
  • Help implement better systems, processes, and organisation
  • Take initiative in identifying areas for improvement and efficiency

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Practical and hands‑on with a “get things done” attitude
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple moving parts
  • Financially competent, comfortable with bookkeeping and numbers
  • Proactive and self‑motivated, able to take initiative without constant direction
  • Confident dealing with people, from suppliers and contractors to tenants and guests
  • Calm under pressure and able to solve problems as they arise

You may come from a background in:

  • Estate or property management
  • Bookkeeping or office management
  • Farming, rural business, or hospitality
  • Household or private estate support roles

Nice to Have (but not essential)

  • Property, hospitality, or contractor management experience

We are looking for someone reliable, capable, and proactive. Practical experience, initiative, and attitude are far more important to us than formal qualifications.
