We are seeking an exceptional Headteacher and Accounting Officer who will lead our school with vision and determination, ensuring that every student is supported to achieve their very best. The school is entering an exciting new phase of development. Alongside a strong and established 11-16 provision, a sixth form was launched in 2024 and is growing steadily. This presents a unique opportunity for the next Headteacher to shape the strategic direction of post-16 education, building a thriving sixth form that broadens opportunities and raises aspirations for students. With the support of a dedicated Trust Board and a committed staff team, you will lead the next phase of the school’s development.
Responsibilities
- We are a Single Academy Trust, which means our Headteacher has the autonomy to shape school strategy with the direct support of an engaged and knowledgeable Trust Board. Decisions are made swiftly, locally and with our students’ best interests at the centre of everything.
- We have a collaborative environment, you will work alongside a vibrant team of teachers and leaders committed to fostering a positive, ambitious and dynamic learning culture.
- With our Sixth Form, we have many opportunities to guide and inspire young people, helping them develop their ambitions, confidence and readiness for the future while strengthening our school community.
- Our students are wonderful ambassadors for the school, whether representing Light Hall at events, engaging in community activities or supporting younger pupils through mentoring and peer leadership. They take part wholeheartedly in enrichment, leadership and house activities, showing confidence, creativity and an inspiring sense of teamwork.
- Light Hall students demonstrate strong values: they are respectful, courteous and supportive of one another, helping to build an inclusive and caring community.

Qualifications and Candidate Profile
- We welcome applications from senior leaders with a proven track record of impact as a Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher, combined with a genuine passion for education. You should be proactive, innovative and resilient, with the integrity to lead by example. You will also possess:
- A strong understanding of strategic, financial and resource management.
- The ability to model high-quality teaching based on evidence.
- Experience in developing and leading curriculum initiatives.
- A commitment to collaborative working with governing bodies.
