Relief Ferries Assistant Pier Worker – Longhope
Hours are offered on an as and when required basis
£15.07 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance). A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate.
The purpose of this role is to assist with loading and unloading ferries. The post requires handling of ships ropes and gangways (as required) during berthing/unberthing operations.
There may also be a requirement to be on out‑of‑hours call‑out if a vessel is called upon to aid a situation in the community, such as ambulance or fire service incidents.

Applicants should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
