Job Description:

Procurement Executive (or Procurement Manager) – Pharmaceuticals

West Sussex/Surrey (3 days on-site)

Salary – negotiable dependent on experience

If you’re someone who enjoys being close to the action, working collaboratively, and genuinely influencing how a business buys and operates, this could be one worth a conversation!

We’re partnering with a growing pharmaceutical business that sources and procures a broad range of products (including generics, OTC’s, ethical drugs, etc) for export into international markets, with additional global reach. It’s a close-knit team where everyone plays a visible role in the success of the business – no hiding behind layers here.

The role:

This is a hands-on Procurement position where you’ll take ownership of sourcing, supplier management and day-to-day purchasing activity. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure products are sourced efficiently, compliantly and commercially.

It’s not a role where you’ll just “place POs” – you’ll be involved in conversations, problem-solving, and helping shape how procurement supports the wider business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing supplier relationships across pharmaceutical product ranges
  • Sourcing products (generics, OTCs, ethical drugs) in line with demand and export requirements
  • Negotiating pricing, terms, and supply agreements
  • Working closely with sales, logistics, and regulatory teams
  • Supporting export-focused procurement activity (MEA regions in particular)
  • Using Excel to manage data, pricing, and reporting
  • Getting stuck into whatever’s needed – it’s a team that rolls their sleeves up

The ideal candidate for the Procurement Executive role will have the following background:

  • Procurement experience within Pharmaceutical sector – essential
  • Exposure to export environments is also highly beneficial
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data
  • A collaborative, customer-focused mindset
  • Someone who’s comfortable in a smaller business environment – adaptable, proactive and happy to get involved beyond a defined remit

Level & scope:

There’s flexibility here. This could suit:

  • A junior candidate looking to step up and take on more ownership
  • Or someone more experienced who can bring broader commercial thinking and add value beyond procurement

The environment:

This isn’t a big corporate setup. It’s a smaller business where you’ll need to be comfortable with pace, variety and visibility. In return, you’ll have real input, closer relationships, and the chance to make a tangible impact.

Why join?

  • Opportunity to work across international markets
  • Genuine ownership and influence in a growing business
  • Broad exposure beyond traditional procurement
  • Collaborative, down-to-earth team

If you’re looking for something a bit more involved than a typical procurement role – and you don’t mind getting your hands dirty then we would love to hear from you.
