Service Engineer – Ansul & Fire Extinguisher

Full Time – £DOE + Overtime + On Call and Call Out

Job Purpose

• Carry out servicing and maintenance of portable extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems.
• Ensure all planned maintenance is carried out in line with its scheduled date.
• Ensure the company’s Health and Safety policy is adhered to.
• Ensure compliance with the GFS management system as it applies to this position.

Key Accountabilities

• Carry out fire extinguisher and Ansul fire suppression system servicing and remedial work at various sites such as restaurants and hotels.
• Provide a good level of customer service and professional manner at all times.
• Arrange own diary and book appointments with clients.
• Complete paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
• Participate in the on‑call rota alongside colleagues.
• Ensure that all equipment and services are maintained and operated in a safe condition to comply with Health & Safety.
• Monitor regular inspection procedures (preventative maintenance programme) of equipment and record inspection reports.
• Keep logs of inspection reports and remedial work.
• Have working knowledge of statutory regulations and be aware of all safety procedures.

About You

• Demonstrable experience of servicing and maintenance of portable extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems.
• Qualifications to service fire extinguishers and Ansul fire suppression systems in accordance with British Standards.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices.
• Strong customer care focus.
• Proactive and capable of anticipating potential faults.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Able to work at heights up to 3 metres and lift weights up to 25 kg.

Training Provided

We may provide training for Ansul R102 systems if you have the right aptitude and relevant skills.

If you already have experience with other suppression/sprinkler systems or BT/Sky installations, we consider these transferable skills. We also look for individuals who understand how kitchen operations intersect with fire safety.
