Air Conditioning Installation & Service Engineer
Location: Midlands or Newport (with travel and occasional overnight stays required)
Salary
£38,000 – £47,000 per year (depending on experience)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to carry out a mix of installation, maintenance, and servicing works across commercial sites. This role involves travel and participation in an on-call rota.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on air conditioning systems, including split systems, VRV/VRF, and chillers
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to ensure optimal system performance
- Install air conditioning systems, from split units through to VRF systems
- Assist with AHU and chiller installations (desirable)
- Respond to client callouts within agreed SLAs
- Maintain compliance with health & safety standards and site‑specific requirements
- Liaise with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth service delivery
- Produce accurate technical and service reports
- Identify and quote for additional works where required
- Participate in a 24‑hour call‑out rota (standby rota applies)
Skills & Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or equivalent)
- F‑Gas Certification (Category 1 / 2079)
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in air conditioning installation and service
- Strong experience working on commercial HVAC systems
- Good knowledge of building regulations and HVAC standards
- Familiar with health & safety practices (risk assessments, COSHH, etc.)
- Full UK Driving Licence
