Product Development Assistant

A fantastic opportunity to join the Head Office of a successful and rapidly growing fashion business. We are looking for a proactive and efficient team player with an entrepreneurial spirit to assist with our strategic growth and expansion plans.
Key Responsibilities:
– Assisting in the development of our womenswear ranges from design sketches to bulk production. With future opportunities to manage development of product categories
– Accurately interpret sketches with manufacturers and ensure that prototypes and samples are cost effectively manufactured to company standards
– Work with the Head of Product to negotiate pricing inline with the brand’s targets
– Work with the Head of Product & Wholesale Manager to ensure on time deliveries
– Work with all the Product Team to ensure quality and fit is to the highest standard
– Manage and organise our fit sessions. Taking fit notes with active participation and ensuring the communication flows between the factories and design team
– Some travel will be required to our factories globally to ensure high quality of our garments, good communication and build relationships with our supply chain
– Effectively communicate with the wider team critical path and launch date updates
– Assist in the daily running of our inhouse atelier and aid the management of our freelancer’s workloads in accordance to critical paths
– Detail, maintain and communicate garment specifications using technical packs
– Update our PLM system, Zedonk for RM inventory and BOM costing
– Assist on creating quarterly product libraries to share with the wider team
– Work with the Design Assistant to present quarterly collections with the wider team
– Demonstrate an empathy with design and a strong creative affinity, passion & respect for the brand
The Ideal Candidate:
– Minimum one years’ experience in Product Development or Production
– Experience and knowledge of pattern cutting, construction, materials and manufacturing processes
– Experience of sourcing / developing raw materials
– Excellent PC skills (Design Software, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs etc)
– Highly organised individual
– Compassionate person with a can do attitude
