Nigel Wright is proud to be partnering with a high growth retail business based in Greater Manchester in their search for a Commercial Analyst. The business that we’re representing have experienced high growth for the last few years and are seeking to take advantage of this by adding to the commercial finance function. This position has no exposure to financial reporting and will focus purely on bringing commercial value add to the group.

Specific duties linked to the role include:

  • Reporting directly to a highly regarded Head of Commercial Finance, supporting strategic decision-making across the UK-focused operation
  • Analyse large volumes of raw data to generate actionable insights that support the delivery of ambitious growth targets
  • Partner closely with the reporting team to interpret financial performance, identify trends, and present clear, data-driven recommendations to senior leadership and the executive team
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain financial models to enable informed and effective commercial decision-making
  • Conduct in-depth competitor and market analysis to identify opportunities for business expansion and performance improvement
  • Provide key insight in advance of and following new product launches. This includes assessing commercial viability, margin sustainability and commodity volatility
  • Play a key role in forecasting and budgeting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives
  • Deliver detailed variance analysis, providing clear explanations behind financial performance and key business drivers
  • Build strong relationships with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, demonstrating excellent communication and business partnering skills

Ideally candidates wishing to apply for this role will be CIMA or ACCA qualified (or finalist) with a minimum of 18 months’ experience in a commercial finance role. Individuals will need to demonstrate a strong analytical and modelling capability and have highly developed business partnering, influencing and communication skills.
