Salary: £35,754.47 plus £4,613.61 London allowance per annum. Contract Type: Temporary opportunity for 15 months. Location: 200 Buckingham Palace Rd, London. Type of Working Arrangement: Blended home and office-working (minimum 2 days per week on-site with Forensic Teams). Hours: 37 per week. The Opportunity
We’re looking for a motivated individual to join the Quality Management Team as a Quality Officer, in a key role supporting our commitment to quality and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with the Quality Manager to help deliver and maintain a robust quality framework across the department. You’ll provide expert advice and guidance to management teams on quality assurance and accreditation matters, ensuring our practices meet the highest standards. A central part of your role will be supporting coordination of accreditation activities, conducting internal audits, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting the resolution of non-conformances. You will also be administering the Quality Management Systems within Crime and Public Protection, driving forward service improvements. What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide support and resilience for the Quality Manager to ensure compliance with Quality Standards across the Specialist Crime Portfolio.
- Conduct internal audits following training; support and deliver quality awareness sessions and training to the organisation.
- Maintain and administer the Quality Management System, ensuring documentation, permissions, and procedures align with ISO 17025/17020, the Forensic Science Regulator’s Code of Practice and legislative requirements.
- Manage customer feedback processes, support continual improvement initiatives, liaison with UKAS and external stakeholders where appropriate.
- Assist with preparation (evidence, packs, reviews) for the delivery of the annual ISO Management Review meetings, UKAS assessments, and surveillance visits, providing guidance where appropriate.
- Collaborate with heads of departments across specialist crime units to strengthen engagement with the QMS, supporting colleagues in applying ISO processes in day-to-day work.
What You’ll Bring To The Team
- Internal auditing experience and training; demonstrated experience in preparing and conducting internal audits, supported by relevant training, or similar experience.
- Accreditation or certification process knowledge; experience with accreditation/certification processes, including familiarity with ISO standards and regulatory codes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to produce clear and concise audit reports, contribute to documentation, and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent organisational and IT skills; capable of planning and prioritising workload independently, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and project coordination.
Additional Information
Requirement to carry out work accurately and to a high standard. The post holder may be required to work from different locations other than the home station. The post holder will be expected to undertake training as required and assist in the organisation of specialist quality awareness events.
