Overview

We are looking for a Senior Golang Developer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering secure, scalable, and mission-critical solutions within a government-focused environment. This role will suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, influencing technical direction, and mentoring others while working on impactful projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of backend services using Go (Golang)
• Architect and implement scalable microservices and APIs
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers
• Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud, and Security teams to deliver robust solutions
• Drive best practices in coding, testing, and system design
• Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term technical strategy
• Ensure systems are secure, resilient, and performant

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience with Golang in a senior or lead capacity
• Proven experience designing and building scalable distributed systems
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Solid understanding of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Strong knowledge of software architecture and design patterns
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable Skills

• Experience working within secure or government environments
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform)
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and logging tools
• Previous experience leading teams or projects

Security Clearance

• Active SC Clearance required
