About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Clinical or Forensic Psychologist to join our National Psychological Services Team on a 6-month contract. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and improve mental health support at a national level.

You will lead a review of mental health provision across our residential (non-inpatient) services, identifying strengths, gaps, and making clear, evidence-based recommendations to improve consistency and impact. You will also support multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) with high-quality assessment and support planning for new referrals.

Working closely with the National Lead for Psychological Services, you will contribute to service development and the implementation of effective, practical improvements.

This is a hybrid role, combining remote working with site visits across key localities (to be discussed). Travel and expenses will be reimbursed.

Key Duties

  • Lead a national review of mental health support delivery
  • Identify gaps and recommend service improvements
  • Support MDTs with assessment and support planning
  • Contribute to service development and implementation of best practice
  • Provide clinical and strategic expertise across services
  • Engage with teams across multiple locations

About You

  • Doctorate in Clinical or Forensic Psychology and HCPC registration
  • Strong experience in complex mental health or forensic settings
  • Experience in service evaluation or quality improvement
  • Skilled in working with MDTs and influencing service development
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Able to work independently and travel for site visits
