Employee Relations & Payroll Specialist – London

Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home) | Base salary circa £60,000 + benefits

An exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing Fintech startup where you will play a pivotal role in shaping people processes and driving operational excellence.

This is a unique and varied role combining employee relations and payroll, perfect for someone who thrives in a scaling environment wanting to work with a dynamic, forward-thinking, and collaborative team where no two days are the same.

What you will be doing:

  • Owning and managing the monthly payroll process
  • Acting as the go-to HR contact for employee queries and guidance
  • Supporting managers with people matters and best practice
  • Ensuring compliance with UK employment law and HMRC requirements
  • Maintaining HR systems, policies, contracts, and employee records
  • Driving process improvements and automation as the business scales

✅ What we are looking for:

  • Strong experience in employee relations and payroll
  • Solid knowledge of UK employment law
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working autonomously
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in fintech, tech, or high-growth startups
  • Familiarity with Telleroo or Paycircle
