Senior Cyber Security Engineer (Network Security & Cloud)
Our client, a leading global organisation within the aviation sector, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cyber Security Engineer specialising in Network Security to join its cyber security function.
This role is critical in designing and implementing advanced security solutions to protect complex, global infrastructure from evolving cyber threats. The successful candidate will work across a broad technology landscape, contributing to the development of secure architectures, proactive threat mitigation, and continuous improvement of security capabilities.

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain security tools and capabilities to protect against cyber threats
- Align security solutions with risk-based strategies and organisational priorities
- Continuously assess and enhance the security posture across network and cloud environments
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging threats, attacker techniques, and industry trends
- Contribute to the development and implementation of security architecture, standards, and best practices
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand business requirements and deliver effective security solutions
- Evaluate and integrate new security technologies as they mature
- Support ongoing improvement of monitoring, detection, and response capabilities
Requirements
- Significant experience in cyber security within complex enterprise environments
- Strong technical expertise in network security technologies, including:
- Firewalls and network tools (e.g. Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
- Cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) and cloud security principles
- Experience with security tools such as Qualys, Akamai, or similar
- Working knowledge of scripting/programming (e.g. Python, Terraform, KQL or equivalent)
- Understanding of security frameworks such as NIST or equivalent
- Ability to interpret and develop security architectures and reference models
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Relevant cyber security certifications (desirable)
