Good data sits behind every strong decision we make about Westminster?s homes, and this role is a key part of making sure that information is accurate, accessible and genuinely useful. With more than 22,000 homes across the city, the scale is significant, and your work will help shape everything from day?to?day services to long term investment planning.
As our Data Officer, you?ll support colleagues across the Housing Directorate by keeping our asset and compliance data reliable, consistent and well organised. You?ll help maintain and develop the systems we use, carry out regular data checks, and provide clear information that helps teams plan ahead and solve problems. It?s a role that blends technical confidence with curiosity, patience and a commitment to getting things right.
You?ll often be the first point of contact for data queries, helping colleagues understand what the information is telling them and how to use it effectively. You?ll work on improving templates and processes, support system upgrades, and help shape how data is collected and shared across different teams. Training and user support will also be part of your role, making sure staff feel confident using our digital tools and applying consistent standards.
We?re looking for someone who enjoys working with detail and takes pride in accuracy, but who also understands the bigger picture and the importance of clear communication. You?ll need to be comfortable working with different datasets, able to explain technical issues in a straightforward way, and happy collaborating with people from a wide range of backgrounds. Experience with data tools, visualisation software or housing systems is important as well as your willingness to learn and your interest in helping others make sense of information.
If you?re someone who enjoys solving problems, improving systems and making sure teams have the reliable data they need to support residents, we?d really like to hear from you.
Westminster City Council is a member of the Disability Confident Scheme.
