About The School Of Computer Science And Mathematics

The School of Computer Science and Mathematics is dedicated to producing research that has real‑world application, boasting specialisms in immersive technologies, applications of artificial intelligence, trustworthy computing technologies and data science. Our academics have a strong track record of collaborating with industry, having worked with organisations such as the BBC, NHS, Panasonic and EPSRC, among many others. The School also partners with local, regional and national organisations through student placement, research, consultancy, short‑course activity and knowledge transfer projects.

What we’re looking for

As part of significant expansion across the University, the School is looking to grow faculty expertise within the Faculty of Health, Innovation, Technology and Science. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic Lecturer in Cyber Security. Applicants with experience in Ethical Hacking, System Penetration, Secure Software Development, Information Security and Cryptography are welcomed; certification in Ethical Hacking is strongly desired.

You will be required to contribute to the continuing enhancement of courses within the Computer Science and Mathematics programmes, developing and delivering innovative and engaging curricula for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Your role includes providing intellectually stimulating teaching, motivating and supporting students, conducting research in your area of expertise, and undertaking scholarly activities to ensure our curriculum remains up to date and meets the needs of students and employers. You may also contribute to outreach and engagement initiatives and interdisciplinary project areas. A PhD in a related subject or relevant professional experience from industry is required.
