Context
Spearfish is a British Security Risk Management Consultancy with presence across Africa, Asia, the UK and Europe. It has operated in Ukraine since 2023, providing security advice, training, crisis management and logistics support to NGOs and the development sector. By providing effective security consultancy, Spearfish aims to facilitate organisations to focus on their core tasks and deliver them safely.
Spearfish has recently won a 6-month contract with a large, inter-governmental organisation to provide security consultancy to both them and their beneficiaries. The Regional Security Advisor (RSA) will join a team of four assigned to the project, working under the Senior Security Advisor (SSA).
The anticipated start date for the project and the role is 1st May
The Role
Full-time, 6-month contract, Kyiv-based (hybrid)
The RSA will:
· Monitor the security situation in Ukraine, using both OSINT and their network in military, police, civil authorities etc
· Design and draft practical, context-specific security and conflict-related risk mitigation frameworks, including risk assessment, mitigation and reviews
· Provide online (webinar) sessions to the client and beneficiaries to build their capacity in risk management
· Identify and assess project risks associated with physical, operational, supply-chain, cybersecurity, communications, data and grant management
· Facilitate client use of Spearfish’s digital risk management platform, SONAR
· Maintain close relations with the client and its beneficiaries
· Conduct site visits where required, both in and out of Kyiv (expenses paid)
· Draft security management documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures and Hibernation, Relocation and Evacuation plans
· Participate in company meetings, workshops and webinars (online)
· Perform other duties as required
Requirements:
The candidate must:
· Be a Ukrainian citizen, resident in Ukraine and based in Kyiv, with fluency in Ukrainian language
· Have at least 4 years of security sector experience, demonstrating familiarity with risk assessment and mitigation
· Possess appropriate qualifications or certifications for the role
· Be fluent in English, confident in drafting English-language technical documentation and providing online training in English
· Have a valid driving licence and be prepared to conduct site visits outside of Kyiv
· Be proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
Desirable:
· Military or police experience
· Have discharged national service obligations
· Own transport

· 120,000-145,000 UAH pcm (before tax)
