Python Developer – London – Energy Trading – 90k

RJC is working a Python developer role for a global energy trading company based in London. Working as part of the IT Delivery team within the Front Office, they are looking for a developer to assist in the creation and support of their strategic technology platform used across gas and power desks across the business.

The role demands understanding of VaR and PnL, developing infrastructural components, and implementing backend technology for trading analytics.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation and support of a strategic technology platform used across gas and power desks.
• Develop infrastructural components and backend technologies for trading analytics.
• Collaborate with Front Office traders and other IT teams to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years Python development experience
• Experience using and optimizing SQL and NoSQL based databases
• Experience working within a trading environment (energy or commodities preferred)
• Strong experience with distributed architecture and modern CI/CD practices (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Ability to work effectively under pressure with traders and demanding front office users
• Good understanding of energy market data
