We have an exciting role for you Android Engineer!

The Role

As an Android Engineer, you will join a team responsible for security within the mobile channel. The team provides a suite of mobile security components and services including penetration testing, obfuscation, and architectural consultancy. Our mission is to build a scalable, proactive, and resilient approach to securing LBG’s mobile applications. You will work closely with engineers across the organisation to enable fast, confident delivery in an evolving threat landscape.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop high‑quality Android components, applications, and mobile security features.
  • Design, build, and deliver reusable mobile security services and SDKs.
  • Work closely with strategy and architecture teams to define and implement solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to Android best practices, performance standards, and secure coding principles.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the mobile engineering community.

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Excellent knowledge of Kotlin/Java.
  • Strong experience with the Android SDK, UI design principles, and established design patterns.
  • Experience with offline storage, threading models, and performance tuning.
  • Strong understanding of the open‑source Android ecosystem and commonly used libraries.
  • Proficient in Android design principles, interface guidelines, and Git‑based workflows.
  • Experience applying SOLID principles within production codebases.
  • Hands‑on experience with MVVM/MVI, Android Architecture Components, and Jetpack libraries.
  • Proficiency with Jetpack Compose.
  • Experience working within a module raised codebase.
  • Experience conducting UI testing for robust delivery.
  • Understanding of mobile security practices, including secure storage, authentication flows, and handling sensitive data.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines for mobile, ideally with GitHub Actions, Fastlane, or similar tools.
